Our HD Front Mount Countertop L Bracket delivers heavy-duty, worry-free support for granite countertop overhangs extending from kitchen islands, cabinet bases, knee walls, pony walls and more. Engineered with a welded center gusset that eliminates bracket flex, each bracket carries up to 350 lbs. so you can confidently support even the heaviest stone, quartz, or concrete surfaces knowing the support beneath is as solid as the countertop itself. The low-profile front-mount design keeps brackets tucked neatly beneath your countertop for a clean, professional look, and the straightforward installation means both seasoned contractors and first-time DIYers can get the job done right with nothing more than a drill and the included hardware.
Built for Strength, Designed for Simplicity. Our brackets are forged from solid 1/4" thick A-36 HRPO American Steel, the same heavy-duty structural-grade material used in commercial and industrial applications. The welded 1/4" center gusset is the difference between a bracket that flexes and one that doesn't. Under load, this bracket stays perfectly rigid, no sagging, no shifting, no movement. Period. Available in five sizes from 10" to 20" deep and finished in durable Matte Black or White powder coat. The HD Front Mount Countertop L Bracket handles granite, quartz, concrete, natural stone, wood, Formica, and every other countertop material you can put on top of it.
Important Note on Load Capacity: The stated carrying capacity of 350 lbs per bracket is achieved only when the bracket is properly mounted to a solid, structurally sound substrate using the included hardware. Brackets must be anchored into robust materials like 2x4 or 2x6 lumber framing or 2x12 backing ensuring adequate embedment. Fasteners should be torqued to a firm, secure hold, avoid over-torquing, which could compromise the integrity of the substrate or the fastener itself. Always follow the installation guide and consult a professional for load-bearing applications or if you are unsure about your substrate's capacity.
Our recommendations meet or exceed the general guidelines provided by the Natural Stone Institute (formerly MIA) for safe and effective countertop support. While natural stone and exotic materials can be unpredictable, and man-made solid surface tops may require less support, our recommendations, based on extensive experience, offer a higher level of structural integrity and peace of mind compared to the minimum guidelines for unsupported overhangs.
Ideally you want no more than 3" of unsupported countertop extending past the end of your bracket. Here's how to figure it out:
Note: Our brackets are listed as depth x height measurements. The first number (depth) supports your countertop horizontally. The second number (height) mounts to the wall or cabinet face vertically.
| Countertop Overhang Depth | Bracket Size Recommendation |
|---|---|
| 10"–13" | 10" x 6" |
| 14"–17" | 14" x 7" |
| 16"–19" | 16" x 9" |
| 18"–21" | 18" x 10" |
| 20"–23" | 20" x 12" |

For optimal stability and weight distribution, these brackets should be placed every 16 to 24 inches apart, ideally aligning each one with a wall stud for maximum strength. To figure out exactly how many you need:
Example: For an 84" wide countertop with 16" bracket spacing:
| Countertop Width | Qty @ 16" Spacing | Qty @ 24" Spacing |
|---|---|---|
| 24" | 3 | 2 |
| 36" | 3 | 3 |
| 48" | 4 | 3 |
| 60" | 5 | 4 |
| 72" | 6 | 4 |
| 84" | 6 | 5 |
| 96" | 7 | 5 |
| 108" | 8 | 6 |
| 120" | 9 | 6 |
| 🛠️ Got a custom size countertop like 91.75" or something in between? No worries! Just use the 4-step formula above — it works for any measurement. When in doubt, add one more bracket. Extra support never hurts, and our brackets are affordable enough that it's always better to over-support than under-support. | ||
