Q&A

Do you make 25" deep brackets? (my floating desk will be 28" deep x 84" wide. Can the mounting holes be bigger than .27"? Maybe big enough to fit a 3/8" lag screw into? Thank you.

Hi Richard. The hole diameter on our Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket is 1/4". At this time, the Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket is available in sizes up to 20" deep. However, we may be able to accommodate a custom size for your project. For customization options, please contact us at hello@ironsupports.com with your project details, and our team will be happy to discuss the possibilities with you. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We’re happy to help.

In a raised bar context, where the "supported" part of the counter is on top of a knee wall (we could do 2x4 or 2x6 per your guidance), do these brackets provide enough support to the bulk of the weight for a 10" overhang? Thank you!

Yes, the Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket is designed to provide substantial support for a raised bar overhang. For a 10" overhang, the bracket will provide more than enough support when properly installed into a structurally sound knee wall. We recommend using either a 2x4 or 2x6 knee wall, with the brackets spaced approximately 16" to 24" apart, depending on the countertop material and overall span. With proper installation, the brackets will support the majority of the load from the overhang, helping to prevent sagging or deflection.

Can these brackets be mounted to concrete walls using concrete bolts? Size of the hole? I have leftover wall molding, and outdoor siding to store from a new house build. Some of the siding is 18' long. I would put up 4 of the brackets to store the siding, probably 14" X 10" brackets. Will thewse brackets work for stated purpose on basement concrete walls?

Yes, these brackets can be mounted to concrete walls using appropriate concrete anchors (typically 3/8" bolts). Using four 14" x 10" brackets should work for storing your siding, as long as they are properly spaced and securely installed to support the weight. Let us know if you need further details!

If I cutout the drywall to mount the bracket directly to the studs can I mud back over the brackets with joint compound to hide them? Will the joint compound adhere to the metal? Saw it in one of the inspo pictures... Thanks!

Hi Jesse. Yes, you can mount the brackets directly to the studs and then apply joint compound over them to achieve a seamless look, as shown in some of our inspiration photos. The joint compound will adhere to the metal surface, allowing you to finish and paint over it for a smooth appearance. Please ensure the brackets are securely installed and level before applying the compound for best results.

Do these come in white?

Yes, the Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket is available in white.
