Our Floating Countertop Wall Bracket is the perfect hidden support for creating Floating Wall Bars, Floating Wall Desks, Floating Wall Bench Seats, Floating Wall Shelves, Floating Vanities and Floating Mantels. Bracket is mounted to your walls wood framing/ studs before finishing the wall with drywall or other wall board. Bracket must be mounted to framing that runs floor to ceiling, no half walls. Use these brackets to support every type of material from floating granite countertops, stone vanities, hardwood desks, glass shelves, and much more. When mounting to steel studs you must reinforce the steel studs with wood to ensure adequate structural support (see Installation Guide PDF for details)
You will want to space your brackets 16" - 24" (max) apart. This will allow for maximum support. We recommend starting your brackets anywhere from 2" to 6" from each end of your supported surface. Do not use any fewer brackets than what should be used based on the recommended spacing.
Choose a bracket size that will support at least 7/8 of the supported surface. In most cases we recommend only having a 1-2.5" overhang to provide sufficient support for your project.
Example Bracket Size for Project – Let’s say you want to support a 20” deep shelf, desk, countertop or bar along your wall. You would want to support that with a bracket measuring 17.5” to 19.5” deep. This gives you an acceptable amount of overhang past the end of your bracket which is recommended to be 1-2.5" inches.
