Decorative brackets are the little pieces of ironwork that hold everything together yet mostly work in the shadows, quick to earn a compliment when someone finally looks up. Ours start as flat steel, get coaxed into scrolls, twists, and clean right‑angles, then land in a tempering oven so the welds tighten and the edges lose their burrs. Whether you need decorative countertop support brackets to shoulder a thick slab of butcher block, or slimmer decorative angle brackets that simply keep a reclaimed shelf steady, each one is sturdy enough to trust, pretty enough to leave uncovered.

We keep the shapes loose on purpose. Some customers want full ornamental brackets with curls that feel at home next to beadboard, others prefer a straight strap that disappears until the sun catches the mill scale. Either way, every decorative support bracket is drilled for lag screws and load‑tested—because “decorative” should never mean fragile. Powder‑coat goes on in matte black, oil‑rubbed bronze, or plain clear if you like the sparks‑on‑steel look straight from the shop.

Slide a pair under a stone countertop overhang, tuck one under a mantel, line three down a hall bench, the install sheet is short and the payoff big: reliable support that quietly adds texture to the room. If you need a custom length, or just an extra hole moved half an inch to dodge a mystery pipe, send a sketch—we will tweak the jig and get you sorted.

    • Stylish shapes for modern, rustic, or traditional décor
    • Robust American steel, load‑tested for shelves, counters, and mantels
    • Curated selection of top‑selling sizes, custom tweaks on request

Best Sellers - Decorative Brackets FAQ's

How much weight will one of these decorative brackets really support?

Our 1.5 in and 2 in-wide corbels are rated for about 150 lb apiece, give or take a few pounds depending on the size. That rating assumes the bracket is lag-screwed into solid studs with something like a #10 × 2 ½ in wood screw. In the real world a properly anchored pair will hold a typical bench seat, mailbox, or stone shelf without fuss. If you need to go heavier, step up to the 3 in-wide version or add an extra bracket every 16-20 in for peace of mind.

Single brace versus Eclipse double brace - what is the actual difference?

Both styles use the same 1.5 in-wide, ¼ in-thick American steel strap. The single-brace model has one ⅜ in center web, while the Eclipse adds a beefier ¾ in web sandwiched in the middle. Load rating stays the same at roughly 150 lb, so the choice comes down to looks and how much visual heft you want under the shelf or countertop. If you prefer a lighter, open feel go single. If you like the chunkier, architectural vibe pick the Eclipse.

    Can I put these outside?

Yes. The brackets are powder coated, which seals the steel against rain and sun. We usually steer folks toward the black finish because it hides scuffs and touch-ups better, but white works too if you do not mind the occasional cleaning. For coastal spots a quick rinse now and then keeps salt off the coating, and a dab of car wax on the exposed screws never hurts. The lifetime guarantee still applies outdoors.

Can I flip the bracket upside down or drill extra holes?

Most models are meant to sit with the long leg on the wall and the short leg under the shelf. Flipping a Parsons or Eclipse bracket puts the load on the wrong part of the weld and voids the guarantee, so we do not recommend it. Extra holes are not something we offer and drilling through the coating can invite rust unless you repaint the bare spot. If you need a different hole pattern, it is usually simpler to pick another size or add a small ledger board behind the bracket.
