    Size & Quantity Guide?

What Size Bracket Should I Use?

    • NOTE: Ideally you want no more than 3" of unsupported countertop extending past the end of your bracket.
      • Example: If your countertop overhang is 19” Deep (19” – 3” = 16”) You’d want to go with an 16” x 12” Bracket
    • Our brackets are listed as follows, depth x height measurements
      • Example: 10” x 8” Bracket
        • 10” would be supporting your material (horizontally or depth)
        • 8” would be mounted to the wall (vertically or height)

How Many Brackets Do I Order?

    • These countertop support brackets are typically spaced 16 - 24 inches apart, or 1 bracket on each framing stud.
    • To figure out how many brackets you need lets start with 2 brackets at each end of the countertop set 4" - 6" inches in from the edge.
    • Now measure the distance between the 2 end brackets and use the following formula:
      • (Distance Between) divided by/ (desired bracket spacing).
      • Example 76 / 16 = 4.75, so you need 4 more brackets to support the space left between the two end brackets.
    • Here is an example using a real countertop installation:
      • An 84" wide countertop with 2 brackets set 4 inches from the end would leave you with 76" left to support; (84" - 8" = 76"). Now take 76" divided by / 16" = 4.75, So you would need 4 more brackets for the space left giving you a total of 6 brackets for this project.
    • For a countertop overhang spanning 84" wide with 2 brackets set in 4" from either side and a 16" span between brackets, you would order 6 brackets total. 2 end brackets and 4 to support the remaining 76" span.

    We needed supports for a

"We needed supports for a cabinet we decided to take off its base and hang it on the wall instead--but we wanted to ensure that time and gravity didn't cause it to get out of plumb. Screws to the wall weren't enough, but we wanted unhindered access to the light switches underneath. Viola, these supports (in white) were perfect! They arrived quickly and while quite heavy, were easy to install. We know never need to worry about this cabinet pulling out of the wall!"

Extremely happy with my L Brackets

"L Bracket Supports the perfect solution for my kitchen peninsula, heavy duty, sturdy, and easy to attach for this first timer. They look great and shipping was super fast. I have peace of mind with the overhang of my countertop. The blend perfect with the black on my peninsula and black screws were included. Would definitely recommend."

    Granite Countertop Supports

"The 3 brackets arrived quickly and notifications kept me informed about order and delivery status. The brackets were easy to install using the included hardware. Excellent quality, both dimensionally and finish."

    Heavy-duty and high quality

"The supports are quite nice - heavy-duty, nice high-quality (possibly powder coated?) finish. I can't speak to whether they will hold up as rated, but they seem to be holding my counter much more firmly than the prior supports. Shipping was fast, price was not unreasonable given the thickness. They recess nicely into the drywall and fit "flush" - we are covering them with some wainscoating, so they will pretty much disappear from view completely. The counter appears as if it is "floating" - it looks awesome."

    Very pleased!

"I needed additional support for the granite countertop since it ended into my pantry cabinet. I ordered the 20”x14”, and it seems to do the trick so that the 24” of quartz isn’t suspended without additional support. My contractor also supported each corner."

    Angel T. (5/5)

They look like they will do very well

"I haven't hung them yet but all indications they will hold the shelves I have made for them!"

    Q&A

Can these brackets be mounted to concrete walls using concrete bolts? Size of the hole? I have leftover wall molding, and outdoor siding to store from a new house build. Some of the siding is 18' long. I would put up 4 of the brackets to store the siding, probably 14" X 10" brackets. Will thewse brackets work for stated purpose on basement concrete walls?
Yes, these brackets can be mounted to concrete walls using appropriate concrete anchors (typically 3/8" bolts). Using four 14" x 10" brackets should work for storing your siding, as long as they are properly spaced and securely installed to support the weight. Let us know if you need further details!
If I cutout the drywall to mount the bracket directly to the studs can I mud back over the brackets with joint compound to hide them? Will the joint compound adhere to the metal? Saw it in one of the inspo pictures... Thanks!
Hi Jesse. Yes, you can mount the brackets directly to the studs and then apply joint compound over them to achieve a seamless look, as shown in some of our inspiration photos. The joint compound will adhere to the metal surface, allowing you to finish and paint over it for a smooth appearance. Please ensure the brackets are securely installed and level before applying the compound for best results.
    Do these come in white?
Yes, the Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket is available in white.
Is it possible to get pre-drilled holes (2) on the other leg of the bracket in order to screw to counter top?
Yes, we can add pre-drilled holes on the top part of the Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket to allow for installation into the underside of your countertop. We're happy to accommodate this customization. For more details or to place a request, please feel free to email us at hello@ironsupports.com. We’ll be glad to assist you further.
Standard Front Mount Countertop L Bracket What are your thoughts on toggle installation?
Hi Tony. While toggle bolts can be a viable solution for mounting, we recommend using them with caution for certain installations. Toggle bolts work well in hollow or drywall applications but might not provide the same level of stability as other mounting options when used in solid wood. If you're mounting to drywall, toggles can distribute the weight effectively, but it's important to ensure the material is strong enough to support the bracket and countertop. For optimal performance, we generally suggest following the installation guidelines provided with the L bracket and considering other methods such as screw-in anchors or direct mounting to studs, depending on your countertop material and structure.
