Our Floating Countertop Wall Bracket is the perfect hidden support for creating Floating Wall Countertops, Floating Bars, Floating Wall Desks, Floating Wall Bench Seats, Floating Wall Shelves, Floating Vanities and Floating Mantels. Bracket is mounted inside the wall and secured to framing/ studs before finishing the wall with drywall or other wall board. Bracket must be mounted to framing that runs floor to ceiling. Half walls must be secured beneath the sub floor, ideally tied into the floor joist or anchored into concrete. Use these brackets to support every type of material from floating granite countertops, stone vanities, hardwood desks, glass shelves, and much more. When mounting to steel studs you must reinforce the steel studs with wood to ensure adequate structural support (see Installation Guide PDF for details)

What Size Bracket Should I Use?

      • NOTE: Ideally you want no more than 3" of unsupported countertop extending past the end of your bracket.
      • To find the bracket size you need take the depth of your countertop, bar, shelf etc... (in this example we will say its 18" deep). Then subtract 3" from that 18" depth (3" is the amount of countertop that will extend past the bracket).
      • This is what the math for that looks like: 18"- 3" = 15".
      • Results: You would want to order a 15.5" bracket for this 18" deep countertop.
      • Pro Tip: "As a contractor we like to run these brackets as close to the edge of the bench or countertop we are supporting. Doing this adds that extra bit of security knowing this thing isn't going anywhere."

How Many Brackets Should I Order?

      • When using this floating bracket for shelves or mantels with a load less than 100lbs you can space these brackets on every other wall stud.
      • When using this floating bracket for Bars, Countertops, Benches, Cabinets, or Vanities you will want to use (1) bracket on every wall stud which would be (1) bracket every 16" or 24" depending on the framing method used.

      How to install the bracket?

      1. Measure and mark the appropriate mounting locations on your wall.
      2. Remove Sheet Rock in the area where the bracket will be mounted.
        1. Pro Tip: Use a chalk line or laser level to mark a straight line. Then attach a 2x4 along the line giving you a template and “shelf” to use while mounting the brackets, keeping them perfectly level with each other.
      3. Securely mount the bracket to the side of the stud.
      4. Once the bracket is fastened patch the wall.
      5. Prior to setting the top in place, run a bead of high-quality silicone adhesive down the center of each bracket.
        1. Pro Tip: For a wood countertop application you have the option to secure that to the bracket with screws and skip the glue. For this you would have to drill holes in the bracket and secure your wood shelf, desk, counter etc… with screws using the holes you drilled.

      Q&A

The designer for the home I am working on wants me to use your brackets in 5 showers in a home for shower shelves. She wants me to use the ones that mount to the side of the studs and stick out 5". Then I would cover them with Kerdi board, moisture guard the Kerdi and then tile them. Do you know if they have been used for that purpose.
Yes, absolutely, our brackets can be used for floating shower shelves. They are premium powder-coated brackets, making them suitable for wet areas such as showers and bathrooms. Many customers use them for concealed floating shelf applications similar to the setup you described, where the brackets are mounted to the side of the studs and then covered with board and tile. As long as the installation is properly waterproofed and completed according to standard shower construction practices, they should work very well for that purpose.
Looking to install floating 12" deep X 57"long shelves on either side of my kitchen hood. These brackets will be concealed within the shelf. There will only be china stored on these shelves, which can be heavy. How many brackets do you suggest I use per shelf? Can I get away with 3 per chelf if I come in on each side?
Hi Margaret. For optimal support, we recommend using one bracket on every wall stud, which typically means one bracket every 16" or 24", depending on the framing method used in your wall.
looking to install two 32 in 12 in granite shelves above a bar, how many brackets do I need?
We generally recommend placing brackets 16" to 24" apart for proper support. For a 32" long granite, we suggest using three brackets per shelf—one at each end and one centered—to ensure stability and even weight distribution.
My floating bench is going to be 36"L x 16"D. How many supports will I need, and what size?
Hi Jackie. When using this floating bracket for Floating Benches, you will want to use (1) bracket on every wall stud which would be (1) bracket every 16" or 24" depending on the framing method used. The size we recommend would be 15.5" to give sufficient support. Hope this helps. Thank you.
My floating desk will be 30” deep. Looks like this bracket extends a maximum of 19” from face of stud. Do you make a bracket that projects farther from wall? I’m looking for something that will project about 27” from face of stud. My desk will be made of wood, if that matters at all. Thanks.
Unfortunately, we do not do any custom sizing at this time. Thank you.
